Let’s make PILAR a safe(r) and inclusive space. The responsibility is everyone’s.
PILAR is a space for everyone to experience, create and connect. Keeping it welcoming and safe is a shared responsibility, so we ask everyone to respect our house rules.
Tickets & access
Events at the PILAR BOX, including concerts, theatre performances and club nights, are accessible with a valid ticket. Tickets are available online or at the box office. We offer reduced prices for young people under 26, whether you are a student or a young professional.
The PILAR EXPO is free to visit during opening hours — just walk in.
During concerts and club nights, you are free to enter and leave throughout the event. For theatre performances, entry is only possible at the starting time indicated on our website. Once the performance has started, no one can enter, as we want to avoid disturbing the performers. Please arrive on time.
Respect each other
We want PILAR to be a space where everyone feels welcome. We do not tolerate discrimination, bullying, harassment or violence, in any form — physical or otherwise.
When interacting with others, respect their boundaries and always seek explicit consent. No means no.
If you witness or experience something that makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please speak to a PILAR staff member at the box office. We are here to help.
Photos & videos
You are welcome to record music performances with your phone. Please avoid using flash, as it can disturb the artists and other visitors. Please also respect everyone’s privacy. Do not photograph, film or share images or videos of other people without their explicit consent.
What you can and cannot bring
For everyone’s safety, outside drinks, weapons and glass objects are not permitted inside PILAR. PILAR has a zero-tolerance policy on drugs, in line with VUB policy. Thank you for helping us make PILAR a space where everyone can feel welcome, respected and free to experience culture in their own way.
During every event we provide:
- Free vestiaire
- Free earplugs (upon request at the ticket desk) and a 90 dB sound limit
- Free tap water (upon request at the bar)
- Free condoms (upon request at the ticket desk)
- Gender neutral toilets, accessible free of charge
- Free menstrual products (available in the toilet stalls)
- Assistance in case of emergency
Want to get home safe?
Ask your friends to accompany you. PILAR highly discourages drinking and driving. The nearest public transport stops are Pétillon (Metro 5), VUB (Tram 25 & 7) and Etterbeek Station (NMBS). You can order a taxi via the Uber or Taxiverts app, it’s not expensive when you share the ride.
